The foliate cast backplate issuing three s-shaped candlearms with conforming bobèche, two stamped with "C Couronné". Two candlearms broken and restored. Minor wear.
The crowned "C" - "c couronné" was a tax mark that was applied to all alloys containing copper between 1745 and 1749.
